Big Fish Costume Designs

For my final project in my Costume Design class, I drew out renderings for a theoretical production of Big Fish the Musical.

Plot: Big Fish is a movie that was adapted into a musical about a man who tells fantastical stories about his life to his son, and as he lies on his death bed, his son wants to learn the reality behind these stories so that he can better know his father before he dies.

Concept: Fantastical world in Edward's stories is a saturation of the real world.
​
Process: I started by gathering photos from Pinterest and the internet, and made digital mood boards for each character. Once I had an idea of the design, I sketched each design using croquis that I either found online or made myself and then painted over the sketches.
